New Version of Detective Pikachu is Coming to Nintendo Switch, Will it Have Ryan Reynolds?

Now that Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is a sure-fire hit, Nintendo has decided to capitalize on that film's success and bring Detective Pikachu to the Switch. As most fans know, the film was based on a 3DS game that had a talking Pikachu team up with a kid as they try and find his dad. Though the 3DS game ended with a cliffhanger, this new game coming to Switch will conclude that storyline.

Unfortunately, details on this new game are slim so it's hard to say if this will be the exact same fame with new content or an all-out sequel. Many are speculating that it will be an HD remaster of the 3DS original but with the addition of an ending and some fans are pretty cool with that. The real question is if Ryan Reynolds will now voice the character.

Probably not.

Let's be honest, Reynolds is a busy man and unless his contract requires him to lend his voice in a video game, this probably won't happen. Still, there is amusement in hearing a dignified voice coming out of the iconic electric rat and it's worth noting that the game will have a much different ending from the movie.

Detective Pikachu on Nintendo Switch does not have a release date. The 3DS game is available now.
