New Survey Reveals That Disney+ Is Just 'As Good As' Netflix

It's been a few months since Disney launched its very own streaming site to compete with major streaming players like Amazon and Netflix. While there are a lot of major differences between Disney+ and Netflix, Disney's new streaming platform has been doing fairly well in the market with new reports revealing that the studio has gathered more than 28 million subscribers in the three months that it's been online.

Now, a new survey taken by consumer-research firm Piplsay (via Variety) reveals that half of all of its participants think that Disney+ is just about "as good as" Netflix. Piplsay asked survey participants "how does Disney+ compare to Netflix" and 49% of those that responded to the survey said that Disney+ was just about as good as its competitor. Surprisingly, 28% of those that joined the survey said that Netflix was the better streaming platform while only 23% of the respondents voted Disney+ as the better streaming service.

Disney+ certainly has a lot of draws. While it has yet to offer the same volume of shows and movies in its library as Netflix does, Disney+ attracts subscribers with brand new content from its media franchises like Marvel and Star Wars.

Star Wars fans flocked to the streaming site when Lucasfilm launched Jon Favreau's Star Wars live-action series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, on Disney+. The series was a major hit, and it draws subscribers in like flies. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating the rest of Lucasfilm's offerings like Captain Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Marvel, on the other hand, has a plethora of series ready for Disney+ like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, Miss Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and the animated What If? series.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
