Ryan Reynolds is inching closer to his dream of seeing comic book characters Deadpool and Wolverine together on the big screen.

Ahead of the full trailer reveal of Deadpool & Wolverine tomorrow, Reynolds shared a video of his character convincing a confused Wolverine to join the Merc with a Mouth when the chance for a collaboration knocks. The footage comes from previous Wolverine films:

Referencing Hugh Jackman's supposed retirement from the role after Logan (2017), he opens the pitch with, “Look, eventually, you're going to hang up the claws, and it's going to make a lot of people very sad. But one day, your old pal Wade's going to ask you to get back in the saddle again, and when he does, say yes.”

The teaser closes with Wolverine approaching Deadpool in his classic X-Men blue and yellow suit.

Reynolds’ teaser closely mirrors the real-life recruitment that he did to convince Jackman to suit up again. "I never stopped [trying to recruit him],” he shares. “I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years." Confirming this, Jackman shares in another interview: “Trust me, there's not a morning I don't wake up where Ryan Reynolds isn't outside my house with posters saying, 'Please.' He's constantly asking me about it.”

It's a good thing Jackman remained open to returning to the role. “All this time I was saying I was done, I really meant it. But anyway, somewhere deep down, this idea was obviously lurking and brewing."

Aside from the teaser, Reynolds also shared the newest movie poster uploaded by Marvel. In it, we get a closer glimpse of Wolverine’s costume, apart from the glaring detail of Deadpool suggestively touching one of the adamantium claws.
