There's still a couple of months to wait for Bumblebee but a new trailer for the Transformers spinoff film certainly has fans excited. New footage teases a major battle between Optimus Prime and the Decepticons.
The trailer opens with Bumblebee fighting and losing to a Decepticon who keeps asking for Optimus Prime's whereabouts. Bumblebee is dropped down a cliff but manages to copy a Volkswagen Beetle before shutting down.
We then see Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) finding the Bug and taking it home. When she finds out that Bumblebee is actually a unique being, she begins trying to help him hide his identity.
There are several hilarious moments like Bumblebee hiding behind a small rock. However, that doesn't mean there isn't much action in the trailer. At one point, we get a glimpse of Optimus Prime fighting against the Decepticons in what could be a huge flashback sequence.
Although we're hoping that Optimus Prime gets plenty of screen time in the film, there is little doubt that Bumblebee will focus on the yellow Autobot. Nevertheless, we can expect lots of action as Bumblebee tries to protect his new friend and the entire world from possible destruction.
The movie also stars John Cena as Agent Burns of Sector 7 as well as Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Charlie's friend Memo. We'll get to hear Peter Cullen return as the voice of Optimus Prime in the film. The Decepticons will be portrayed by Angela Basset as Shatter, Justin Theroux as Dropkick, David Sobolov as Blitzwing, and Jess Harnell as Barricade.
Bumblebee hits theaters on December 21.
