New Bumblebee Poster Takes You Back to the 70's and 80's

December is only a month away and Transformers fans are hoping that Bumblebee ends up being the Christmas gift they've always wanted; a good movie. Sure, many of us see the first Transformers film by Michael Bay as a decent flick and a guilty pleasure but most of the other installments have been fairly bad, with maybe the third one being close to decent. That being said, Bumblebee already looks better than both the first and third film, so here is hoping it lives up to the hype.

Paramount Pictures has released a new poster for the movie, which is meant to pay tribute to some of the action movies that came out in the late 70's and 80's, the latter of which is when Transformers started being a hit on television. The movie is set around this era makes this a perfect setting for a prequel, though many of us are hoping that this will secretly be a reboot of the franchise.

Bumblebee gets the biggest image in the poster, with Spider-Gwen voice actress Hailee Steinfeld also getting some decent exposure. The poster also claims that former WWE Champion John Cena is also here but we can't quite see him. We know he'll be a heel here, something he hasn't been since 2003, but we can only believe in something that's visible.

Twenty years before the events of the first film, in 1987, Bumblebee takes refuge in a small California beach town junkyard, where a teenage girl named Charlie Watson takes him in. However, the two of them soon find themselves hunted by a government agency known as Sector 7, led by Agent Burns. As they run from society, the two learn that Bee is not the only Transformer on Earth and that the others might not be as friendly.

Bumblebee comes out on December 21.
