Netflix’s Series of Unfortunate Events Announces The Premiere Date for the Final Season

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events may not have succeeded as a movie franchise, but it did find its audience with a Netflix live-action series. The show is set to end with the third season, and we have a new trailer to announce the release of Unfortunate Events 3.

With each season comes two episodes that represent one entry in the book series. The last season had ended with The Carnivorous Carnival, and this upcoming third season will give us The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and The End.

Interestingly enough, each book will get two episodes each save for the last book. The End looks to be one episode; my guess is that it will just have an extended run time.

While a good chunk of the audience had grown up with the 2004 movie starring Jim Carrey (myself included), a lot of readers of the original books admit that the series if more faithful to the source material. I guess the movie just decided to keep things a bit more grounded to attract older members of the audience as well. Say what you will about it, but Carrey made for a fantastic Count Olaf.

My fingers are still crossed that they bring Carrey in for a cameo for the series.

Neil Patrick Harris returns as Count Olaf for one last time in A Series of Unfortunate Events 3 which comes out Jan. 1, 2019.
