Netflix revealed lots of trailers for upcoming live-action and animated titles at Geeked Week. Among these announcements is the new Terminator anime by Production I.G, which got a teaser at the event.
Terminator getting the anime treatment is a bit of a surprise given how things have been quiet for the series since the release of Dark Fate in 2019.
Then again, Netflix producing this makes sense given how the streaming giant has continued to beef up its original anime lineup. This is clear based on the sheer number of announcements during Geeked Week 2023.
Netflix Highlights Upcoming Anime Slate at Geeked Week 2023
Geeked Week happened from November 6 to 12, and it featured a ton of reveals and new trailers. On the live-action side, the highlights are no doubt Avatar: The Last Airbender, as well as the Rebel Moon film.
Classic anime fans were also treated to the first proper teaser for the Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series, an adaptation of the 90s studio Pierrot TV anime.
Live-action anime adaptations have gotten a bad rap in the past years, but the perception is changing as Netflix’s One Piece became a huge hit.
Based on this teaser, the Yu Yu Hakusho live-action might also be good.
Aside from live-action projects, animated titles also got the spotlight. For starters, there’s the final trailer for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. This may seem more like a Western animated show, but it is animated by Science SARU.
Other titles that got trailers and featurettes are Ultraman: Rising, the Devil May Cry anime, Blood of Zeus Season 2, and more.

Terminator Anime in the Works From Psycho-Pass Studio
Many of the highlighted titles at Geeked Week were announced before, but that’s not the case with the Terminator anime as the series was only revealed at the event.
The announcement was made alongside the release of the teaser, which only showed the series’ title.
There are not a lot of details about the series so far, except for the fact that it is being animated by Production I.G (of Psycho-Pass and Heavenly Delusion fame).
Production I.G is no stranger to working on international co-productions. After all, the studio has worked with Adult Swim on the new FLCL shows. Not to mention that affiliate Wit Studio is working on the Suicide Squad Isekai anime.
For now, there’s no word yet on a release date for the Terminator anime.
