Heads up, Netflix fans! The global streaming giant officially confirmed that the much-awaited third season of Alice in Borderland has been greenlit. The hit Japanese sci-fi thriller drama became Netflix Japan’s most-watched title ever following the release of Season 2, even beating out the platform's anime titles.
Netflix Confirms Alice in Borderland Season 3 is Coming
While fan speculation has been running wild surrounding the beloved show's status, Netflix caught everyone off guard by releasing a teaser on social media.
Nearly a year after Season 2 concluded, Netflix’s Vice President of Content in Asia Pacific, Minyoung Kim confirmed the exciting news at the APOS entertainment and media industry conference in Bali, Indonesia.
The short teaser, which quickly went viral across social media features the iconic Joker playing card with the announcement: "You may draw another card. Alice in Borderland will return for Season 3!" Check it out here:
When Will Netflix Release Alice in Borderland Season 3?
We've yet to confirm when Alice in Borderland Season 3 arrives on Netflix, let alone when production will begin. As it stands, lead stars Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya are expected to reprise their roles as Arisu and Usagi in the third season with director Shinsuke Sato remaining at the helm of the series.
According to Netflix (via The Hollywood Reporter), fans can look forward to witnessing the evolution of Arisu and Usagi's characters in the ever-dangerous landscape of Borderland.
