Alice in Borderland Season 3: Has It Been Renewed?
It's official! Alice in Borderland has been confirmed to return for a third season.
Netflix broke the news with a teaser video on X (previously Twitter).
In the tweet, Netflix tells fans:
"You may draw another card. Alice in Borderland will return for season 3!"
Prior to making the announcement, Netflix teased avid fans of the show as it spread out cryptic teasers around Tokyo.
The teaser, posted on September 18, 2023, revealed 10 playing cards without any further explanation.
An X/Twitter user was able to decipher the cards which read "Alice Three."
Here's how the code was cracked:
"The first card showed three spades and “a” is the third letter of “spade”. Then do this for the rest of the cards."
Alice in Borderland Season 3 Release Date
Unfortunately, a release date for Alice in Borderland Season 3 has not yet been revealed. It's possible that Netflix has already finished filming and is getting ready to release the series real soon.
The first season of Alice in Borderland premiered on Netflix on December 10, 2020, while the second season of the series came out on December 22, 2022. If the third series follows the same trend, it may also come out sometime in December 2023, at the earliest.
Alice in Borderland Season 3 Cast
Most of the cast members from the previous season may return to reprise their roles in Alice in Borderland Season 3.
The second season revealed that the characters we initially thought have left the game, are still very much alive. Dori Sakurada still plays Niragi, along with Sho Aoyagi as Aguni. We will also see Tao Tsuchiya, who plays Yuzuha Usagi, and Kento Yamazaki, who plays Ryohei Arisu, who both survived and remained alive through season 2, so we may see more of them in season 3.
Other surviving characters returning are Aya Asahina as Hikari Kuina, Nijiro Murakami as Shuntaro Chishiya, and Ayaka Miyoshi as Ann Rizuna.
Yuri Tsunematsu plays the new character Heiya, and since she’s managed to escape death, we may see her in the next season.
Who are the Creatives Behind the Scenes of Alice in Borderland Season 3?
Alice in Borderland is based on the graphic novel by Haro Aso. The novel was adapted for television by Yasuko Kuramitsu, Shinsuke Sato, and Yoshiki Watabe. Alice in Borderland was directed by Shinsuke Sato.

What Will be the Plot of the Third Season of Alice in Borderland?
Alice in Borderland Season 2 ended with a bang.
Arisu, Usagi, and the gang fought tooth and nail to escape into what they believed to be the real world, but the Joker card reveals otherwise.
In the final episode, Arisu was tricked into believing that he was stuck in a hospital bed the entire time and that the game was only a dream. Usagi helped him wake up and escape from the mental trap, but they may not have truly broken free from the game but slipped into a different game instead.
The group is now facing more challenging and more intense cards, and since the Joker is now in play, the challenges may just become even harder.
Arisu and friends managed to kill the current gamemasters, but this simply means we may meet more cruel gamemasters in the future.
Alice in Borderland Season 3 Trailer
There is no trailer yet for Alice in Borderland Season 3, but it may be released a few weeks before the official release of the season.
The trailer for the first season came out on October 29, 2020, while the trailer for the second season was released on December 4, 2022. If the third season follows the same trend, the trailer may be released sometime in late November to early December of 2023.
In the meantime, while we are waiting for the Alice in Borderland trailer, we can enjoy the trailers for the first few seasons.
