We're now approximately a quarter of the way through the fifth season of My Hero Academia and the class vs class battles are still going strong with the second match up having two students with darkness quirks going up against each other! In one class, we have a student who can disappear into any dark shadow, and in the other class; we have Tokoyami's Dark Shadow, which proves useful in the early going. What the other class doesn't expect, however, is that Tokoyami has used his work-study time to level up and create a brand new, never-before-seen move!

Produced by studio Bones, Kenji Nagasaki directs this season, which is covering the events from the 21st volume of the original manga.

I have to admit, I'm already kind of over these class vs class matchups. While the action in the matchups is entertaining, I'm much more interested in the side stories that were introduced in the first couple of episodes of the season. The family story with Endeavour could prove to be one of the most interesting in the entire history of the series since we've spent the last 4 seasons idolizing heroes and having them painted as perfect bastions. I'm loving seeing that the current number one hero isn't capable of keeping his family together. I know that they've talked about this in the past (season one was our first taste of this story, if I recall correctly), but actually seeing it up close within the confines of Todoroki's private home is fascinating.
