What Does My Happy Marriage Season 1 Cover?
Set in the 19th-century Meiji Restoration Era, My Happy Marriage tells the story of Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudo’s relationship.
During this time, Japanese families often sent their daughters to marry for financial wealth and societal status.
In the Saimori household, Miyo is an unfortunate and unwanted child. She can’t use supernatural abilities, even though the Usuba family has been known for wielding top-notch supernatural abilities for generations.
The Saimori household treats Miyo as a servant due to her lack of Spirit Sight. Her father, Shinichi, including her stepmother and younger sister, sees her as a useless girl throughout her life.
When Miyo finally comes of marriageable age, her father decides to marry her off to Kiyoka Kudo.
Her father believed that this was the only chance Miyo would be useful to the family, so he never contemplated sending her off to wed a pyrokinetic soldier.
At this point, Miyo thought that her cruel life would end, but lo and behold, she has to marry Kiyoka Kudo, who has a cruel and ruthless reputation as a commander.
It is said that all of his former fiancés fled in fear after staying with him for three days!
To Miyo’s surprise, Kiyoka is anything but the monster she expected. He is surprisingly nice and kind!
As the days go by, Miyo and Kiyoka gradually become closer, including their hearts!

How Many Episodes Does My Happy Marriage Have?
The My Happy Marriage anime has a total of 12 episodes, running for a single cour in the summer anime season.
This episode count has been confirmed through the Blu-ray and DVD announcements posted on My Happy Marriage’s official website.
As announced, My Happy Marriage will have a total of 12 episodes spread across three Blu-ray and DVD volumes.
The first volume will contain Episodes 1-4, the second volume will contain Episodes 5-8, and the last volume will contain Episodes 9–12.
The anime’s total episode count did not come as a surprise. After all, new anime shows, particularly of the romance genre, have been releasing 11–13 episodes for quite a while now.
We can say that this is the norm for new shows, most likely due to interest checks, manga and/or light novel promotions, and so on.
For instance, the spring 2023 anime season saw the release of romance anime titles such as The Dangers in My Heart, Skip and Loafer, A Galaxy Next Door, and Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion, all of which have 12 episodes.

When Do New Episodes of My Happy Marriage Get Released?
All episodes of My Happy Marriage are now available on Netflix in sub and dub. Fans would have to wait for new episodes to come, as My Happy Marriage Season 2 has been confirmed.
In Japan, My Happy Marriage aired on select channels like Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, BS 11, and AT-X.
