Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 0 Preview Focuses on Fitz

Mushoku Tensei will finally make its long-awaited return in just a few days. But instead of a typical first episode, Mushoku Tensei Season 2 previewed Episode 0, which will put the spotlight on the “new” character Fitz.

To hype up the anime’s return, a new preview video along with screenshots were shared on the show’s official channels. Interestingly, the second season’s first episode has "zero" in the title.

There is a good reason for this though, as this new episode will not focus on the protagonist Rudeus.

Mushoku Tensei Returns With Season 2 Following a Timeskip

Isekai anime are a dime a dozen, and it’s next to impossible to have a new anime season without an isekai series (for better or worse).

Despite the bad rap that isekai shows tend to have, there are some shows that are well-received.

One of these is Mushoku Tensei, the anime by Studio Bind that’s based on the light novel series by Rifujin na Magonote.

While it seems to be your standard isekai anime at first, it does some things differently from other titles.

For starters, the protagonist starts his journey as an infant instead of instantly being a strong warrior.

What’s also interesting about the series is that it covers a long period. The first season starts when the protagonist Rudeus Greyrat is born, and it covers his childhood.

But with Season 2, Mushoku Tensei will happen after a timeskip. Specifically, the show will cover Rudeus’ life as an adolescent, and it will feature him joined by a cast of new characters.

Mushoku Tensei Episode 0 Trailer Previews Fitz

While there won’t be many returning characters from Season 1, there will be many new characters introduced that will play big parts in Rudeus’ next adventure.

One of these is Fitz, an elven bodyguard of Princess Ariel. Fitz is the focus of Mushoku Tensei Season 2’s recent previews that were shared on the website and the anime's official Twitter account.

Fitz should look quite familiar, even for those who have only seen the anime.

Without getting into spoiler territory though, Fitz is no doubt someone that light novel readers are familiar with.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 will premiere in Japan on July 3, 2023. The show will also be streamed on Crunchyroll in the US and other selected territories.
