Murder on the Orient Express Sequel Casts Armie Hammer

Though the movie was met with a mixed reception, there's no doubt that Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express made a lot of money in the box office, and the sequel was greenlit in no time. The movie already has mega star Gal Gadot as part of the cast and new has come out that they may have found her leading man.

As per Deadline, Armie Hammer (Lone Ranger, Call Me By Your Name) has been cast in Death on the Nile. Returning will be Kenneth Branagh as the director and star Hercule Poirot. The script is also said to be adapted by Michael Green who adapted the first movie for the big screen.

In Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile, Poirot will once again find himself travelling, on a cruise with a murder to solve, and he better find the culprigt fast because the other suspects are getting killed off one by one.

I'll admit, I wasn't that big of a fan for the first movie. With the twist so obvious, I was expecting the movie to change the identity of the murderer, but the end revealing that all of them killed Johnny Depp? It was a tad too much for me to swallow.

The first movie managed to assemble an impressive cast with the likes of Daisy Ridley, Judi Dence, Willem Dafoe, and Penelope Cruz. With Gadot and Hammer onboard for this sequel, I'm just waiting for more announcements on who will be joining them for a killer cruise on the Nile River.

Death on the Nile is aiming for a release on Dec. 20, 2019.
