Mortal Kombat 11's NetherRealm Studios is Co-Developing Switch Port with Scribblenauts Developers

Mortal Kombat 11 has to be the most anticipated fighting game coming out this year. To be fair, it's not like there are other fighting games that have been announced but that doesn't mean this new title should be dissed. Pretty much everyone knew that the game would be coming to PS4, PC, and Xbox One but many were surprised when it was also announced for the Nintendo Switch since the company's consoles barely had these games.

With rumors that the Switch port of this game is going to be delayed, NetherRealm Studios recently admitted that they are only co-developing this version. While the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC version will be fully-made by NetherRealm, the Switch port will have help from Shiver Entertainment, the same studio that brought you the Scribblenauts games.

Yay?

Now, to be fair, a number of Switch ports were co-developed and ended up working well on the console. Look at ports of Doom and Wolfenstein 2, which might not be the best versions of these games but they are perfectly capable. The same could be said for Mortal Kombat 11 and the developers at Shiver are competent developers.

Taking some of the customizable character features from Injustice 2, it's clear that Mortal Kombat 11 is going to be one hell of a fighter. Those with weak stomachs may want to avoid this like the plague but those that like gore should enjoy this.

Mortal Kombat 11 comes out on April 23.
