Mortal Kombat 11 Box Art Officially Revealed

Mortal Kombat 11 might just be the biggest fighting game coming out this year, especially after it made a thunderous debut during The Game Awards. We recently got our first look at Shao Kahn, who looked really good in the game, and now we have our first look at the game's box art. To the surprise of absolutely no one - even a non-Mortal Kombat fan like myself - it features Scorpion doing a cool pose.

If you remember, Scorpion was also the cover star of Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat XL, though he did share the latter's box art with the game's other DLC characters. Ed Boon shared the official cover of MK 11 on Twitter and fans are digging it, liking Scorpion's redesign among other things.

There seems to be a crazy story that involves time travel, at least that's what we got from the very first trailer. We also saw a ton of sick, gruesome kills, which is the standard for Mortal Kombat games these days. The gore might be a turnoff for some but is a huge selling point for others, which is why the game series has been around for eleven installments.

After Mortal Kombat X raised the bar for some and Injustice 2 perfected the game's graphical engine, one can assume that Mortal Kombat 11 will be a great balance between those two titles. Here is hoping that we get some crazy guest characters as well. The game comes out on April 23.
