Ever since its final episode aired more than a year ago, a lot of MCU fans are still looking forward to hearing more updates regarding the future of Moon Knight and its titular character.

So far, Marvel Studios has not made any announcements on whether the series will be renewed for a second season or whether Oscar Isaac will reprise the role in another MCU project and team up with other heroes.

While the reception of the series was not as glowing as the others, fans are still hoping that Isaac will still continue in the role, especially since the ending implied that the character's journey is far from over.

In a recent interview with Arabic Marvel (via The Cosmic Circus), Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab addressed the possibility of a second season and whether it was originally planned to be a one-off series.

While he didn't give a definitive update on a second-season renewal, he did share that the series was meant to be planned to be six episodes only and its renewal will depend on Marvel Studios' plan, not the success of the first season.

"Marvel had determined it from the first day. Marvel’s series projects are all six episodes except for special projects like WandaVision. The usual format is six episodes," Diab said.

"Loki is the only series they said will be in two parts from the first day. Marvel’s way is not the usual way where if the project succeeds, I say let’s renew it for a second season. It’s their plan, successful or not, they have a plan."

Unfortunately, fans still need to wait a little longer for any updates regarding the future of Moon Knight in the MCU and the series potentially getting another season and hopefully, Kevin Feige will make more clarifications soon.

There's no doubt that fans would love to see the character get more action in the MCU, not just a standalone adventure and it's also an opportunity to see more of Isaac in the role.

For now, all we can do is sit back and wait for any announcements from Marvel Studios, and let's hope that it will happen sooner than later.
