Moon Knight Director Shares Excitement with [SPOILER] Crossover with Other MCU Heroes

Moon Knight has triumphantly taken the spotlight as Marvel's latest project for the streaming service, Disney+. Now that the six-episode series just wrapped things up for Oscar Isaac's titular hero, fans are wondering what's next for the Egyptian Moon God's Avatar.

Helmed by director Mohamed Diab, Moon Knight follows Isaac's Steven Grant as he navigates his dissociative identity disorder and the abilities given to his other persona, Marc Spector, by an Egyptian God Khonshu. Throughout the series, Spector and Grant are constantly fighting over control of the body, however, in the show's finale, another persona has surfaced and that is no other than the long-awaited Jake Lockley, who also wants to take control.

In Marvel Comics, Lockley is one of the Moon Knight personas who served as the bridge to the criminal underground. And all the three personas have co-existed and solved their internal issues to develop the crime-fighting vigilante, Moon Knight.

Although the show has taken a different approach compared to the source material, Lockley's inclusion means a lot to the show. And in a new interview, Moon Knight director dived deeper into Lockley's inclusion in the series.

In an interview with Screenrant, director Mohamed Diab sat down and revealed that he would love to do more with Moon Knight's Jake Lockley. He noted that there are many inspiring storylines in the comics that he could potentially do, including crossovers with other MCU characters.

"I would kill for it. I would love to do it," Diab said. "It's the most fun I had on a job. Sarah, my wife and a producer on the show, and I helped create that world; we feel at home. And all those people that work with us feel like they're family. There are so many options. There's crazy things and so many inspiring stories in the comic books that we want to play with, and I can't wait - if one day I'm allowed - to partner him with other superheroes and see how he drives them crazy."

Although Moon Knight is reportedly a one-and-done deal, the show's conclusion hints at a tremendous future, especially with Lockley's arrival. And if ever Marvel decided to crossover Moon Knight into the broader MCU, he could take part in the Disney+ Halloween Special Werewolf by Night, or explore more adventures such as Shadowknight and Moon Shade.

Fans would certainly love a season two for the series, or even a crossover is a good idea. Unfortunately, Marvel hasn't announced a second season yet for the Disney+ series. Nevertheless, the show's finale hints that there are definitely more stories to explore with Moon Knight, and he could possibly return for more adventure.
