Michael Douglas: Hank Pym is Not Happy About Ant-Man Showing Off Giant-Man in Civil War

The last time we saw Ant-Man onscreen was when he was fighting alongside Captain America in Civil War. Though Scott Lang did appear by himself, it turns out that his mentor Hank Pym was not happy about how he revealed himself to the world.

Talking to ScreenRant, Michael Douglas revealed that his character will be angry at Scott when the movie begins. He explains:

"Yeah he's pretty pissed off about that. [Laughs] He really is. I mean, I would say, largely sets the initial tone between Scott and Hank on this one. That was, you know he didn't share much information with Dr. Pym."

Seeing that Ant-Man's main expertise is espionage, it wouldn't help if people knew about his size-altering abilities. I guess Ant-Man would have to be an official Avenger before he gets to go about saving people in public.

With the introduction of Ghost in the movie, I was kind of disappointed that Hank Pym didn't turn out to be the villain this time. Pym has such a complicated personality in the comics, and I think it would have been an intriguing plot to have Scott Lang go against his own mentor.

Either way, this upcoming film still looks fun, and I think that's what these smaller Ant-Man films are all about.

Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out July 5.
