Michael B. Jordan: Chadwick Boseman Wants Fans to Stop Asking Him to Say ‘Wakanda Forever’ in Public

Black Panther came out as one of the biggest superhero movies of the year, and Chadwick Boseman instantly became the face of the fictional nation of Wakanda. ‘Wakanda Forever' was a phrase that caught on, but Boseman kind of wishes that people would stop asking him to say it for them in public.

This was revealed by Michael B. Jordan during his acceptance speech at the MTV Movie Awards for Best Villain. He jokes that Boseman himself had asked him to tell fans to stop making him say "Wakanda Forever"; and though this could come out as a joke, I imagine that Boseman has grown very tired of people walking up to him, crossing their arms, and saying "Wakanda Forever" every time he's spotted in public.

There was even this picture that came out during Infinity War of Boseman looking very unenthusiastic doing a Wakanda salute, and it has actually become a meme online:

For now, T'Challa was one of the people who turned into dust by the end of Infinity War, so I expect Okoye to have a more substantial role in Avengers 4 to try and get him back. Some guess that Shuri will assume the mantle of the Black Panther in the meantime. That would admittedly be cool, but I think we haven't seen the last of King T'Challa.

Black Panther is now available on digital and Blu-Ray.
