The third season may not yet be here, but fans of the series still have the new KonoSuba Megumin spinoff to enjoy. To celebrate the series premiere, Megumin VA Rie Takahashi shared her excitement for the KonoSuba explosion spinoff in a new interview.
Takahashi spoke with LisAni recently, and there, she shared her reaction to the Megumin light novel spinoff getting an anime adaptation.
She also shared her thoughts on singing the show’s ending song alongside Yunyun VA Aki Toyosaki.
Megumin VA Rie Takahashi on Performing the Anime’s Ending
Rie Takahashi is easily one of today’s most prolific voice actors. She first gained renown for voicing Emilia in Re:Zero and Megumin in KonoSuba.
Since then, Takahashi has appeared in numerous anime shows. Her latest roles include Tomo Aizawa in Tomo-chan Is a Girl!, Anju in Romantic Killer, Ai Hoshino in Oshi no Ko, and Yuzuriha in Hell’s Paradise.
Aside from voicing lots of characters, Takahashi is also a singer. Previously, she was part of the idol group Earphones, and she has also performed ending theme songs for Re:Zero, Teasing Master Takagi-san, and others.
For the Megumin spinoff, Takahashi is once again tasked with singing the ending song, though the difference here is that she’s performing alongside Aki Toyosaki.
Regarding the performance, Takahashi said that the new song titled JUMP IN is interesting as it was a bit different from the previous song she performed with Yunyun’s VA.
Their previous song, Red Battle, was styled like a rap battle. But according to Takahashi, this new one felt more like Megumin and Yunyun singing back-to-back, which is a nice change of pace and a good match for the spinoff.

Takahashi Shares Her Excitement for the KonoSuba Spinoff
While Takahashi is pretty much everywhere at this point given how many roles she plays, Megumin still has a big place in her heart given how voicing her was one of her biggest breaks.
Given her love for Megumin, Takahashi explained that she was incredibly happy with the announcement of the spinoff and KonoSuba Season 3.
Of course, the spinoff has more pressure on Takahashi as she plays the lead role this time instead of being one of the four stars.
Given the spinoff’s story though, Takahashi was still excited about this opportunity, especially as it will delve deeper into Megumin’s past as well as her relationship with Yunyun.
