While it seemed at first that we’re well behind the Winter 23 fiasco, several anime have gotten delayed just recently. One of these is Mashle, which recently announced that the release date of Episode 7 has been delayed by a week.
The show’s seventh episode was originally scheduled to release on May 19. Instead, a recap episode was shown.
Ahead of the recap episode’s broadcast, the next episode was confirmed to release after a week.
Though there are some fears that the other episodes will also face similar delays, as is the case with other Aniplex shows.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles Gets a Recap Episode
Mashle: Magic and Muscles seemed to not have any production issues, so it was surprising for many fans that Episode 7 was delayed by a week.
In its place, a recap episode was shown last Friday, which featured a highlight reel of the biggest moments from the first six episodes.
A recap episode isn’t new for anime shows as it’s a way to give the studio more time to work on the series.
Though the delay has resulted in some fans being worried about more delays for Episode 8 and beyond.
On Reddit, many fans expressed their worries about Mashle’s production, especially as it’s an Aniplex show that’s being worked on by A-1 Pictures.
Fans are hoping that Mashle won’t suffer the same fate as Nier: Automata Ver1.1a, another anime that’s also by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures which was among the hardest hit of the Winter 2023 delay fiasco.

Mashle Episode 7 Release Date, Countdown
While there’s no official word on it yet, it’s possible that Aniplex’s reported Winter production issues had a knock-on effect on Mashle.
After all, the Nier anime has yet to announce release dates for Episode 9 and beyond. Though Mashle isn’t the only Spring 23 anime that has faced delays.
For instance, Gundam: Witch from Mercury was also delayed, and it also got a recap episode instead of Episode 18 back on May 14.
Another anime that was delayed just recently is Hell’s Paradise as its ninth episode will be delayed by a week.
As of writing, Mashle Episode 7 is set to release on May 26 at 12:30 PM EDT / 9:30 AM PDT. Here is the countdown for its expected Eastern Time release:
