Mary Poppins Returns: Featurette Brings Us Back to Cherry Lane

There may not be a Star Wars movie coming out this December, but Disney is sure to have a treat for the audiences with the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns. A new featurette has been released for the film, and it gives us a new look at some setpieces as well as some behind-the-scenes magic.

With the original Mary Poppins marking a pinnacle of Disney's ingenuity when it comes to film, it looks like Returns is going to try and up the ante. The musical numbers are very visually striking, and I'm sure Emily Blunt has what it takes to fill in for Julie Andrews.

For now, Disney still hasn't given us any clue about what kind of songs will be coming with the film, but I bet they're going to be released right before the movie premieres. Besides the animated scenes and dazzling visuals, Poppins has always been known for its songs. It would be impressive if this sequel gave us pieces as memorable as Spoonful of Sugar or Feed the Birds.

In Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns," an all new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.

Mary Poppins Returns to cinemas Dec. 19.
