Get a Special Look at Disney's Mary Poppins Returns

Disney may not have a Star Wars movie coming out this December, but they do have something interesting with the Mary Poppins reboot/sequel. Marketing for the film has been slowly pushing on, and Disney has just dropped a new special look at Mary Poppins Returns.

For one, we get a teaser on some of the new songs coming with the movie, plus we get some looks at some upcoming setpieces coming to the film. The first Mary Poppins was considered a technical Marvel when it came out back in 60s, and it looks like Returns is going to be keeping true to the spirit of magic and fantasy.

Besides Emily Blunt taking over the role originated by Julie Andrews, we also have Lin-Manuel Miranda playing the spiritual successor of Dick Van Dyke's Bert—Jack the lamplighter. It's said that Jack will be the one opening the film, and based on the trailers, he'll be tagging along with Poppins and the kids when they go on their magical adventures.

Other big stars are also attached to the film such as Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury, and Colin Firth. Dick Van Dyke is also set to play the role of Mr. Dawes Jr. (in the original film, he had a side role as Mr. Dawes Sr.)

Personally, I think everyone is hoping that Julie Andrews herself makes one small cameo in the film.

The mysterious Mary Poppins returns to Depression-era London to visit Jane and her brother Michael, now a father of three, and helps them rediscover the joy they knew as children.

Mary Poppins Returns to theaters Dec. 19.
