Marvel's Spidergeddon Event Will Include Insomniac's Spider-Man

Everyone was already excited for Insomniac's Spider-Man PS4 game and the latest gameplay trailer from E3 only amplified that. Add the numerous positive hands-on impressions that have been released since and it looks like Sony has another hit exclusive for their console. Marvel is now hoping that hype can be transferred to the comics, as this version of Spider-Man will be in the company's upcoming Spidergeddon event.

Polygon not only revealed that this version of Spider-Man will appear in the event but that he is the silhouetted character in the event's teaser. It's kind of a natural fit since Christos Gage, one of the game's writers, is going to write the storyline.

Video game Peter will make his comic book debut in Spidergeddon #0, written by Gage and drawn by Carnage U.S.A. artist Clayton Crain. How important he will be to the story is not yet known since this is essentially a sequel to Dan Slott's Spider-Verse, which means an insane number of Spider-Men and Spider-Women.

It would be nice to see a comic book set in the game's universe after this event, though some would argue that the game is already really similar to the current status quo of Spider-Man.

Spider-Man PS4 comes out on September 7. Spidergeddon #0 hits comic book shelves on September 26.
