Marvel Reportedly Planning to Develop Daredevil Movie

Marvel may have yet to announce its plans regarding Marvel Netflix superheroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher, however, there have been reports going around saying that the studio has big plans for Matt Murdock.

According to a report by Showbiz Cheatsheet, Marvel plans to develop a standalone movie for Daredevil after introducing him in various projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only does Marvel want the blind lawyer in Phase 4 movies like Spider-Man 3, they also want the character to appear in upcoming Marvel Disney+ series like She-Hulk.

Once the character is properly introduced into the MCU, then Marvel will begin developing a Daredevil standalone movie, adapting the Born Again Story arc.

For those aren't that familiar with the narrative, the Born Again Story arc has Bullseye killing Karen Page on behalf of Kingpin. The Born Again story arc was featured in the third season of Netflix's Daredevil series, however, the show altered the narrative by having Karen Page survive the attack by Bullseye.

That's not all of course. Aside from following the Born Again Story arc, the Daredevil movie is also reportedly going to include a major Avenger – Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Showbiz Cheatsheet's source says that Marvel is hoping to have Stephen Strange in the film so that Matt gets advice on the mystical arts.

Apparently, the Sorcerer Supreme needs to help Matt fight the main antagonists of the Hand who have somehow found a way to raise the dead.

It's a rather long convoluted story – though we do really want to see Daredevil make his way into the MCU. Let's cross our fingers and wait and see.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 4, 2020.
