Agents of SHIELD Reveals How Captain America Super Soldier Serum was Made

There is little doubt that Captain America was one of the main reasons why SHIELD came to be. However, there's another important thing that would ensure Steve Rogers would become the First Avenger: the super soldier serum created by Professor Abraham Erskine. But how did it come to be in the first place? Agents of SHIELD has just revealed how the serum was created.

In the latest episode of Agents of SHIELD Season 7, it was revealed that Freddy, who was previously confirmed to be the future father of the man behind Hydra, is actually in possession of what would eventually become the super soldier serum. Interestingly, the episode made it clear that Hydra has always known about the serum and had been hoping to use it as a weapon.

The episode Know Your Onions also confirmed that Erskine has been developing the serum in 1930. However, one important detail was almost lost because of the Chronicoms trying to change the past and erase SHIELD from history. Luckily, the agents were able to step in but they might have to work even harder in the next few episodes.

There is little doubt that the final season of Agents of SHIELD will cover several different timelines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it's awesome to see that they went back to the past to revisit how it all began in the first place. Needless to say, we can't wait to see which timeline will be featured next.

Agents of SHIELD Season 7 airs on ABC every Wednesday nights.
