Marvel Directors Joe And Anthony Russos On Their MCU Plans After Avengers: Endgame

Joe and Anthony Russo's Marvel films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame might have seen critical and commercial success, but it doesn't look like the directors have any plans to make more films for the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon.

According to Games Radar, the Russo Brothers are planning to take a long break from the MCU after Avengers: Endgame, the directorial duo explicitly saying that the film is their own Endgame for the time being.

"It's our Endgame, at least for now. We don't have any plans for now to make any more Marvel movies," the directors revealed.

Still, this doesn't mean that the two won't consider any offers from Marvel in the future.

"It certainly may come up in the future at some point," the directorial duo said, "We have a wonderful working relationship with [Marvel Studios] and a great passion for what they're doing."

It seems like the Russos just want to take a long, long break from Marvel after Endgame and Infinity War – something which barely comes as a surprise considering how the directors had to work on back to back productions to get the two-part Avengers movie done.

Not only that, but the directors had to meticulously dodge potential spoilers for their films by keeping scripts from the cast and by filming fake scenes to keep fans off their scent. Joe and Anthony put a whole lot of work into their Avengers movies. They deserve a break, even for a while.

Avengers: Endgame is going to make its official debut tomorrow, April 26.
