Marvel Confirms Thunderbolts Line-up Will Include Black Widow's Taskmaster

In case you missed it, Marvel has just confirmed that the Thunderbolts are getting their own movie. Marvel Studios also unveiled the line-up of the antihero team which will include most of the characters who have already been recruited by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. But which Taskmaster is going to be joining the group? Marvel has confirmed that we'll get to see Antonia Dreykov reunite with Yelena Belova after the events in Black Widow!

Marvel announced the Thunderbolts film at Disney's D23 Expo this weekend and confirmed that the project will star Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Sebastian Stan (James "Bucky" Barnes/The Winter Soldier) and Wyatt Russell (John Walker/U.S. Agent). They will be joined by Harbour's Black Widow co-stars Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster) and Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), as per Comicbook.com.

This is great news but not exactly a huge surprise considering that Natasha Romanoff had made sure Taskmaster would survive and be freed from the Red Room. In addition to that, it's awesome to know that Ghost, who was first introduced in Ant-Man and The Wasp, has found a team who could use her talents. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the line-up was the addition of Bucky Barnes considering that he has already been de-programmed by the Dora Milaje in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

At this point, we have no idea what will happen in the movie but with a line-up like that, we can expect a lot of action. With that in mind, we can't wait to see what the Thunderbolts will be up to in 2024.

Thunderbolts will be directed by Jake Schreier who was also in attendance at D23 Expo. The film is set to begin production by the end of the year and will open in theaters on July 26, 2024.
