This February, the upcoming Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) film Madame Web is finally arriving in theaters. It will introduce a brand-new set of female heroes in the franchise that is led by Dakota Johnson's Cassandra Webb.

Some fans have been anticipating the film's release since it will be the first entry in the franchise that will focus on heroic characters and has time-travel elements that they have not explored before.

Considering that the Venom films and Morbius received polarizing reviews, there is a lot of hope that Madame Web will turn things around and receive more enthusiastic responses.

Now, as we're getting closer to the film's release, we finally have a word regarding its runtime which turns out to be a record breaker for the franchise.

Norwegian ticketing company website FilmWeb revealed that Madame Web will have a runtime of 116 minutes (or 1 hour 56 minutes).

With its almost two-hour runtime, it is now the longest film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe franchise (the Spider-Verse animated films are not included in the equation).

In comparison, the first Venom film had a runtime of 112 minutes, the Jared Leto-starred Morbius had a length of 104 minutes, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage was tightly paced with only a 97-minute runtime.

While the runtime has no indication of the film's quality, it does suggest that it will be more action-packed and they are potentially juggling a couple of storylines within a two-hour span.

In addition, considering that there are four main characters, it also makes sense that its runtime is longer than the previous SSU films which all focused on one main character. The new film would need extra time to introduce and explore all four characters properly.

Hopefully, the final results that we will see in the theaters next month will be satisfying and not a major disappointment like the other SSU films given the historic nature of the franchise with an all-female main cast.

Madame Web is set to release in theaters this February 14.
