Loki Season 2 Reportedly Changing Its Release Window

The highly-anticipated second season of Loki is currently set to air on Disney+ later this year. So far, Marvel Studios remains mum regarding the details of the new season except for the return of the main cast and the introduction of new variants of Kang the Conqueror.

There have been questions about when exactly the new season will air. Obviously, the summer period is out of the question since Secret Invasion has taken the slot which means that it is now likely to arrive this fall or the beginning of winter.

A report from months ago also claimed that it is likely to premiere this coming September although that was never confirmed by Marvel Studios and Disney+ nor reported by the major trades.

Now, it looks like the alleged September release might not happen as a new report from The Cosmic Circus claimed that the release window for the second season of Loki has been changed to October this year.

The report alleged that the new season's delay was caused by storyline issues as Marvel Studios wants to ensure that the story is "as strong as possible" before it gets released to the public.

While there are speculations that Jonathan Majors' recent controversy might be the reason behind the second season's delay, the report shot it down as they claimed that the actor will still remain in the series although no decision has been made yet for his future in the MCU beyond it.

There is also the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that could factor in the show's delay since writers are currently not allowed to do any writing or rewriting which means that the showrunner can't do any punch-ups or minimal writing revisions during post-production.

For now, let's just wait and see whether this scoop remains to be true. We should hear more details about the new season's release in the coming months as we are getting closer to its alleged window.
