To recap, the first season ended with Loki returning to TVA after their confrontation with He Who Remains which ended with Sylvie killing him and sending Loki back to the headquarters.

As Loki warned Mobius and B-15 about his discovery regarding He Who Remains, the two didn't recognize him. Loki also noticed that the Time-Keepers statues had been replaced with the likeness of Kang the Conqueror.

Now, we finally have the answer regarding the mystery that we were left off when we last saw the God of Mischief and the TVA gang.

The season two premiere of Loki immediately picked up on the cliffhanger ending of the season one finale as we saw Loki running away from Mobius, B-15, and the Minutemen, who were all chasing him in the hallway.

As he was being cornered and nowhere else safe to go, Loki decided to jump off the balcony and landed on a flying car that bumped into He Who Remains' statue and crashed in an office area.

As he stood up after the crash, Loki approached Casey, who also did not recognize him. Before he was apprehended, he teleported again to a different time in the same area. Fortunately, Casey recognized him this time around.

Loki realized that he was in the past which is why none of the folks on the TVA recognized him initially.

Later on, after multiple random teleportations and attempts, he is finally able to reach out to Mobius and tell him everything that he learned from his encounter with He Who Remains.

Afterward, Mobius took Loki to the basement level where the Department of Repairs and Advancement is located and met Ouroboros (aka OB), who told Loki that he is time slipping which is why he was randomly transporting to the past, present, and future.

We finally have the answer regarding what happened to Loki and why Mobius and B-15 didn't recognize him since he was apparently time slipping and now has the cursed ability to randomly teleport to different times.

While the issue may have been seemingly solved by the end of the episode thanks to OB and Mobius' efforts, it's interesting to see what will happen next in the following episodes if there will be some ramifications on what they set up in the premiere.

New episodes of Loki season 2 premiere every Thursday night on Disney+.
