During the first episode of Loki season 2, a lot of fans spotted a potential easter egg for X-Men as they noticed that the door to the temporal loom was similar to the entrance to Cerebro that we've seen in the comic books and the Fox movies.

As a result, it prompted numerous fan theories surrounding the show's potential connection to the mutant side of the MCU and it made them wonder whether the design was intentional as an easter egg treat for long-time fans.

So far, the show has not shown any hint of connections at all to introduce a version of the X-Men, but fans can't help but wonder about it thanks to the easter egg.

Now, we finally have the answer from the person responsible for that design and it looks like the theories might have been wrong all this time.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Kasra Farahani, who directed the third episode and served as production designer of Loki season 2, disputed the X-Men easter egg in the temporal loom door as he clarified that the design was not intentional in that way.

"No, I don't even know the doors people are talking about, honestly. It's not," he said.

"We were looking of subterranean missile bunkers, missile silos from the Cold War era. There's some insanely, heavy fortified doors in those bunkers and that's where that's coming from."

Even though the design might be similar to the Cerebro door, it sounds like the production design did not make it with the intention of being an X-Men easter egg and it was simply inspired by real-life examples of what a bunker door would usually look like.

While the fan theory was fun to discuss and it's also not out of reach since the MCU is notorious for doing easter eggs, we may have to settle down for this particular one since it was just pure coincidence and none of it indicates anything about exploring the mutant side of the MCU in the series.

The designers of the Cerebro might have also looked at pictures of bunker doors as their inspiration as well which is why the two look too similar when you compare them side by side.
