Miss Minutes took an unexpectedly dark turn in the third episode of Loki season 2. Aside from betraying Ravonna Renslayer, she also revealed her romantic feelings for He Who Remains while talking to Victor Timely in an unsettling moment that caught fans off-guard.

We also learned more about how Miss Minutes was pulling a lot of strings within the TVA since she is He Who Remains' right-hand sentient after all.

The revelations certainly changed our perception of the character and it's far from what we have initially thought of her when she was introduced in the first episode of the series.

Now, one of the producers behind the series has opened up about the twist and explained whether the character has actually turned into a villain.

Speaking with Marvel.com, Loki executive producer Kevin Wright opened up about the Miss Minutes revelation in the latest episode and explained the character's motivations behind the move that she made.

While her actions might be seen as a villainous turn, Wright also insisted that she's not fully "bad" but she's operating in the "gray area."

"At the end of Season 1, we know she's kind of duplicitous and she's got a bigger plan going on. But I think it was intriguing to play with, what is that plan? Why is she doing it?" he said.

"In Episode 3, when she speaks to Victor Timely about the past that they had, I think it's really kind of moving. It's weird, you get she's an artificial intelligence, but there is some kind of maybe consciousness there that she's had these experiences, and she kind of longs for this connection again."

The producer also discussed the questions on whether it was all part of Miss Minutes' programming when He Who Remains created her or it was a consciousness that she gained throughout her existence.

"Is her programming [written] to make that loyalty for him? Or, as she says, she was given the free will to write her own programming? Is this a naturally growing kind of emotion that she's having?" Wright added.

"I just think that's a cool space creatively to sit in. And of course, when she's rejected, she'll go off the rails. That's fun, too, because she's vindictive."

With the revelations in the recent episode, Miss Minutes suddenly became a more interesting character than ever and it's curious to see where they will go in the rest of the season whether she'll end up being an ally or a bigger problem for Loki and Mobius.

The episode also ended with a cliffhanger when Miss Minutes claimed that she knew a big secret about Renslayer that might make her angry. Whatever that reveal is going to be, it could also just be another nefarious move from the sentient to spice up the situation.

New episodes of the second season of Loki premiere every Thursday night on Disney+.
