Sony might not have released the movie description or the plot synopsis of Morbius, but it looks like a leaked plot for the upcoming Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters movie ties the film together with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and with Venom (Tom Hardy).
According to a Marvel Fan on Reddit, a credible source has revealed information about Sony's Morbius movie. The leak provided by the fan breaks down the plot of the comic book movie point by point. While we've yet to get confirmation about the authenticity of the leak, the plot could signal major changes for the characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for characters in Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters.
The leak says that the first tie to Spider-Man in the plot is where Michael (Jared Leto) finds himself in a bar. While he watches TV, the doctor finds himself on the TV with J. Jonah Jameson (the same version of the character played by JK Simmons in Spider-Man: Far From Home) reporting about Michael getting himself killed as Morbius.
The second tie to Spider-Man happens later in the film when Michael meets AdrianToomes (Michael Keaton) from Spider-Man: Homecoming in prison.
While we've yet to hear from Marvel about the accuracy of the leak, we're excited to see everything play out on the big screen. We'd like to see Morbius being tied into the Marvel Cinematic Universe – it would certainly help Sony's Universe of Marvel characters.
Morbius is set for release on July 31, 2020.
