Although Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings won't be released until next year, it looks like Marvel already has a project planned following the upcoming movie.

In a recent report from GWW, an Agents of Atlas project is reportedly in development by the studio. The outlet claims Shang-Chi will be used to set up the story. However, it isn't clear whether the said project will be a series or a feature.

For those who aren't aware of the Agents of Atlas, it is one of Marvel's team that features a line-up of unique and contrasting characters that have unrelated stories from each other. It has been around since the '50s and was retconned in the mid-2000s. The story has been through several iterations and was relaunched last year as Greg Pak's New Agents of Atlas with a team made up of superheroes with different nationalities including Shang-Chi.

While the project is yet to be confirmed, it actually makes sense for Marvel to develop the story following Shang-Chi. With the Avengers' absence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's time for other heroes and teams to step up. This is also a chance for Special Agent Jimmy Woo to appear, which was actually played by Randall Park in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The Agents of Atlas project is considered a rumor for now. In the meantime, fans can look forward to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings directed by Destin Daniel Creton and stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung Chui-wai, and Awkwafina. The film is set for release on February 11, 2021.
