La Viuda Negra is a 2014 telenovela that was adapted from the book La patrona de Pablo Escobar. The book follows the real-life story of Griselda Blanco, who is known as the Black Widow and The Queen of Cocaine.

The telenovela was in Spanish language and had a total of two seasons. The first season was released in 2014 and the second in 2016.

The first season followed Blanco's early life when she gained a reputation as The Queen of Cocaine. Meanwhile, the second season followed Blanco's capture in the US.

The telenovela, La Viuda Negra, is heavily inspired by Griselda Blanco's story. The early stages of the telenovela are accurate with the Queenpin's story. But as the telenovela progresses, the plot has been changed for dramatic purposes.

One of the things added to the show was Enzo Vittoria, an Italian Mafia kingpin, who fell in love with Blanco. Despite previously shooting him, Vittoria abducts Blanco and tries to marry her. Unfortunately, Blanco kills him on the day of their wedding.

But in Blanco's story, Vittoria is nowhere to be found since he is purely a work of fiction.

Additionally, the telenovela made a twist to how Blanco left prison. Instead of getting the electric chair, the show made it look like she faked her death to be rescued in an ambulance.

There are plenty of other facts that were changed in La Viuda Negra, especially the second season, for dramatic purposes.
