Kirsten Dunst recently opened up about her "miserable" experience filming the iconic kiss scene in the first Spider-Man film.

The Oscar-nominated actress famously played Mary Jane Watson opposite Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. Her take on the hero's love interest has been beloved by many fans.

One of the most memorable scenes in the first film was the upside-down kissing scene between Spider-Man and Mary Jane that ignited their romantic relationship.

As reported by The Independent, during her guest appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Dunst recalled her experience filming the iconic kiss scene with Maguire in Spider-Man.

She admitted that she found the experience "miserable" as they had to shoot the scene while it was raining in "freezing" temperatures.

"I remember Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired but also he really wanted to make it special even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it," Dunst shared.

"It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn’t breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him."

While the scene turned out to be a major romantic moment for the audience, it didn't appear that way for the actors when they filmed the scene which is not surprising to hear since it is all part of the so-called "movie magic."

Since starring in the Spider-Man trilogy, Dunst has not shown up again in another superhero movie even in No Way Home where Maguire famously returned to reprise his iconic version of the web-slinger.

She is still, however, open to starring in a superhero movie due to the massive payday that she could potentially receive.

"Yes because you get paid a lot of money, and I have two children, and I support my mother," Dunst candidly told Marie Claire.
