After Flame of Destiny’s success, another live-action film in the series is coming soon. To promote the film’s release next year, the fourth Kingdom live-action movie got a new teaser that revealed its title.
Along with the official title, the teaser also shows off new footage from the movie, featuring fan-favorite returning characters along with new additions to the cast.
On top of this, a new poster for the fourth movie was also shared via the film’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Fourth Kingdom Live-Action Movie Reveals Official Title in Latest Teaser
The Kingdom manga continues to be a massive hit for Shueisha. Aside from the seinen manga still being a bestseller, the anime adaptation will also continue in Winter 24 with a new season.
Fans will also be treated to the next Kingdom movie, which will be released just one year after Flame of Destiny, the third movie that was a huge box office hit. That movie topped Japan’s box office chart for four weeks straight.
Thanks to the film series’ continued success, it’s no surprise that another entry is coming next year. Fans of the series should check out its latest teaser here:
The fourth movie’s official title is Kingdom: Taishogun no Kikan (or Kingdom: Return of the General in English).
As its title implies, this movie covers the manga’s Shi Ka arc. This is a big arc as it features Shin and O Ki together on the battlefield.
Along with these two, the trailer also highlights more major characters such as Anne, Sha Ka, and others.

Kingdom: Return of the General Gets 2024 Release Date
The franchise may not be as big internationally, but it’s fair to say that Kingdom is one of the most popular seinen titles in Japan.
For reference, the ongoing Weekly Young Jump manga has over 100 million copies in circulation as of November 2023. The manga is also critically acclaimed as it has been honored with various awards.
The manga’s popularity continues to be boosted by its adaptations, which continue to be big hits in Japan. Thus, it’s highly likely that the fourth Kingdom movie will top Japan’s box office once again when it is released.
Kingdom: Return of the General will be released in Japanese cinemas on July 12, 2024. Currently, there’s no word on international theatrical release plans for this film.
Ahead of the film’s release, the Kingdom anime’s fifth season will premiere on January 7, 2024. Crunchyroll is expected to stream the series, though there’s no official announcement yet.
