Kill La Kill Video Game Coming From Dragon Ball FighterZ Developers

Thanks to its fast-paced nature, over-the-top fight scenes, and fun characters, Kill La Kill has become a huge hit with anime fans. Watching the whole season, it feels like the creators were able to cram in three seasons worth of anime in those set number of episodes and it would be interesting to see if these same creators ever work on a follow-up.

In the meantime, fans have a new video game based on the anime to look forward to. Anime games can be hit or miss but the fact that Arc System Works is publishing it should give fans some hope.

Arc System Works has always impressed fans with their anime-like visuals on BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. That fandom soon grew when Arc System Works released Dragon Ball FighterZ earlier this year, which managed to be an accessible fighting game that was deep enough for EVO tournaments and easy enough for casuals to enjoy.

Kill La Kill will be developed by APLUS and it's not yet clear how the game will play. Screenshots released thus far have shown both 2D and 3D elements, though the 3D parts look like a cinematic finisher similar to FighterZ. One other thing worth noting is the fact that the game's Japanese title is called Kill La Kill The Game IF, which implies a what if-style story.

The game is slated for a 2019 release. No systems were announced.
