After plenty of rumors and supposed leaks, Dragon Ball FighterZ was officially confirmed for the Nintendo Switch during E3. The acclaimed fighting game from Arc System Works did so well on PS4 and PC that Nintendo fans were hoping to see this game in their system and they're finally getting it. While most fans wait for a worldwide release date, Japan has gotten one and a very special pre-order bonus.
Japan will be getting the game on September 27, according to Ryokutya2089 (via Siliconera). This could mean that the international release date could be a few days before or after the Japanese one, though no official announcement has been made yet. Still, fans have been waiting for this version of the fighting game for some time, so the wait should be worth it.
Old-school Dragon Ball fans are about to get jealous since Japanese fans will get a digital code for the SNES game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden. Considered by many to be one of the more influential games in the series, it has yet to get an international release so the chances of this game getting an English translation for fans outside of Japan are slim to none.
Switch fans are also getting a new simplified control type and early access to the Super Saiyan Blue forms of Goku and Vegeta. Local multiplayer battles can also be had with a single joy-con.
No international release date was announced for the Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ, though it is confirmed for a 2018 release. The game is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Bardock, Broly, Fused Zamasu, and Super Saiyan Blue Vegito are now available as DLC, with four more characters to come.
