Kevin Feige Still Focusing On Marvel Even While Producing For Star Wars

Marvel fans were pretty surprised when word came out last month that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige would be producing a film for the Star Wars franchise. The announcement sparked a number of questions from the fanbase. What film was Feige producing? Would Feige be taking Kathleen Kennedy's place as the President of Lucasfilm? Would this lead to the producer working on more Star Wars movies? What does this new Star Wars movie mean for Marvel?

Though the Star Wars project means more weight added to Feige's workload, the Marvel Studios President promises that his involvement with the galaxy far, far away won't be taking time away from building the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

IGN just recently spoke in an interview with Marvel producer Trinh Tran and during the discussion, the publication encroached the topic about the future of the franchise now that Feige is expanding to Star Wars.

According to Tran, Feige might have added responsibilities now that he's producing for everyone's favorite science fiction franchise, but the Marvel producer is still going to make sure that he takes time to help further build the MCU.

"I think Kevin has always been…he's so passionate about Marvel…about the characters and about the world that Marvel has created," Tran said. "He's always going to be involved in that aspect. He's always going to make sure that what we deliver out to the public is the best that we can do. So, I don't think it's going to change in that sense."

This is interesting news. This means that Feige won't be deeply engaged with Star Wars, putting most of his focus on Marvel Studios.

Or perhaps the producer is deciding to take it slow so that he doesn't really leave Marvel behind.

Let's wait and see.
