Set to air on February 23, 2020, the episode will be entitled Bart the Bad Guy. According to a report from TV Line, both the Russo Brothers and Marvel Executive Kevin Feige are set to appear on the episode as, you guessed it, movie executives.
The episode primarily revolves around Bart Simpson, who gets a chance to see an unreleased sequel of the extremely popular film Vindicator, which is part of a massive superhero franchise. He then uses spoilers he learned from the movie as blackmail to get everything he wants before two big-time executives (the Russo Brothers) do everything in their power to keep any details about the film from coming out. Feige, on the other hand, is set to play the fictional film's supervillain named "Chinnos."
The Russo Brothers are, of course, no strangers when it comes to gatekeeping spoilers. Prior to the release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Endgame, the two penned a letter asking people to avoid posting any details about the much-anticipated finale on social media. They were also the ones behind the #DontSpoilTheEndgame and #ThanosDemandsYourSilence tags.
The satirical Fox comedy has always been known for its pop culture references and famous guests. It also recently paid tribute to former Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and several other iconic franchises in the past such as Star Wars and The Godfather. It is now on its 31st season on the channel's broadcast network and will be available to stream on Disney+ once it launches on November 12, 2019.
