On top of being an in-demand voice actor, TsudaKen has also started appearing in more live-action projects. That’s because it was revealed that Nanami VA Kenjiro Tsuda plays a role in the live-action Golden Kamuy movie.
Tsuda’s involvement in the movie was revealed earlier today, just one day before the film’s theatrical release in Japan.
Interestingly, Tsuda will not play the same role that he has in the anime. Instead, he will be in the movie in an unexpected role.
Kenjiro Tsuda’s Next Role in the Live-Action Golden Kamuy Movie
Kenjiro Tsuda is one of the most popular voice actors in anime, both in Japan and internationally.
He is best known for his deep, distinctive voice that perfectly suits the roles he plays like Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen and Kishibe in Chainsaw Man.
In the Golden Kamuy anime, Kenjiro Tsuda voices Hyakunosuke Ogata, a notable supporting character who has been there since the first season.
Interestingly, the new live-action movie adaptation brought back Tsuda, but not as Ogata. Instead, fans will only hear Tsuda in the movie as he is the voice of the film’s narrator.
Regarding his role in the film, Tsuda said that he was wary at first about voicing the narrator. He was worried that his narrating the movie would be distracting, especially for fans of the anime who know his voice as Ogata.
Despite this, he was glad to have been part of the film as he loves the series. This is thanks to Golden Kamuy’s mix of serious scenes and comedic moments, as well as its intense energy.

Golden Kamuy Live-Action Film Is Coming to Japanese Cinemas Tomorrow
Even though the Golden Kamuy manga ended in 2022, the series continues to get new projects. The latest is the live-action film adaptation, which was announced back in April 2022.
The film is quite a star-studded one as Saichi Sugimoto is played by Kento Yamazaki, the popular actor who plays Arisu in Alice in Borderland.
He is joined by Anna Yamada as Asirpa. Yamada starred in Japanese films such as Georama Boy, Panorama Girl and Unlock Your Heart.
The Golden Kamuy live-action film will be released in Japanese cinemas tomorrow, January 19, 2024. There’s no word yet on international release plans for the film.
As for the anime, the fifth and final season is in production, though there’s no word yet on a release date.
