Kaiju No. 8 is one of spring 24’s most anticipated anime, but a new announcement has caused a bit of a commotion. Many fans are now concerned about Kaiju No. 8 following its global simulcast announcement on X (formerly Twitter).
The official XBusiness account revealed this in a recent post, sharing that the upcoming shonen anime by Production I.G will be simulcast globally on the platform.
This took most anime fans by surprise, especially as X is not known for being a video streaming platform.
Kaiju No. 8 Will Become the First Anime to Simulcast on X
X is undeniably one of the biggest social media sites, especially for anime fans. After all, aside from official announcements being made there, it’s still one of the most active sites when it comes to anime discussions.
It seems that X is looking to capitalize on the massive anime fanbase, as it will broadcast Kaiju No. 8 globally on the platform.
Based on the announcement, new episodes of the series will be streamed with English subtitles at the same time as their Japanese broadcast.
For comparison, most streaming platforms release new anime episodes after their TV broadcast in Japan.
Aside from this announcement, not a lot of info has been revealed, though more details about its X broadcast will be shared at a later date.
This will make Kaiju No. 8 the first-ever anime to get a global simulcast on X, indicating interest from the platform to be a streaming site.
Of course, while some welcome this news, other fans have concerns about the show’s quality.

Fans Are Concerned about Kaiju No. 8’s Quality on X
While there are lots of videos that get uploaded and shared on X, the quality of the videos can be low due to compression. There’s also the fact that changing the quality manually is often not an option in videos.
Because of this, many anime fans voiced their concerns on both X and other platforms like Reddit. Some are even going as far as saying that they may have to resort to other means to watch the series.
Despite these concerns, Kaiju No. 8 won’t stream exclusively on X. That’s because Crunchyroll already confirmed previously that the show will be part of its spring 2024 lineup.
The Kaiju No. 8 anime will premiere in April 2024. Currently, there’s no word yet on a specific release date for the show’s first episode.
