Crash Course in Romance actor Jung Kyung Ho has been tapped to lead a new Korean comedy film.

Tentatively titled Boss, the upcoming Korean movie will see Jung Kyung Ho appear alongside Narco-Saints actor Jo Woo Jin. Director Ra Hee Chan, who previously directed Going by the Book, will direct the upcoming film.

Jung Kyung Ho To Show More Sides of Him in Boss

The Korea Herald cited the statement from the production firm Hive Media Corp., which confirmed that Jung Kyung Ho and Jo Woo Jin already began recording this month.

The upcoming movie tells the story of Sikgu, a gangster group whose members try to escape the selection of its next leader while attempting to start new lives.

In the movie, Jo Woo Jin plays the role of the gang's No. 2, Soon Tae, who wants to open a Chinese restaurant.

Meanwhile, Jung Kyung Ho plays Kang Pyo's role. He returns to the gang 10 years after killing a betrayer and becomes the No. 1 choice to be the next leader of the gang.

Park Ji Hwan also joins the cast members. His character is yet to be named, but his role is another candidate for the gang leadership.

Ahead of the release, both Jung Kyung Ho and Jo Woo Jin shared their thoughts about the new film.

"I'm very excited and also worried at the same time to play in the comedy, but I'm expecting synergy with my fellow actors," Jo Woo Jin said.

On the other hand, Jung Kyung Ho shared, "I'm happy to play Kang-pyo, a type of character I have never played before, and I'll do my best with the fellow actors."

Jung Kyung Ho Opens Up About Playing Sensitive Characters

Jung Kyung Ho has played notable supporting and leading roles since he debuted in 2004. Among his renowned flicks are Time Between Dog and Wolf, Smile You, Prison Playbook, Life on Mars, Missing Nine, When the Devil Calls Your Name and Hospital Playlist.

When he started playing Choi Chi Yeol's role in Crash Course in Romance, the actor revealed how he felt he was doing something different from his previous roles. He added that he used to think he needed to do something to get out of a box.

After scoring the role, he reportedly realized that he became stronger and more natural in portraying his characters. He also acknowledged being more flexible than before.
