Yuji Itadori is undoubtedly the main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen but he's not the only cool character at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Yuji's classmate Nobara Kugisaki is also proving to be very popular with the fandom thanks to her confidence and determination.
So what truly makes Nobara Kugisaki so special? Jujutsu Kaisen English dub actor Anne Yatco has confirmed that she looks up to the character and claims Nobara has every right to be one of shonen anime's best girls!
Anne Yatco recently took part in the Jujutsu Kaisen panel at Crunchyroll Expo where she spoke to Comicbook.com about the character she plays in the anime. Not surprisingly, Yatco says Nobara is a role model for women who watch the series.
"I think what resonates with everybody is that Nobara is a person who is fully realized. She walks in already fully comfortable with who she is," Yatco said. "I think that speaks to people because it is like she is saying and doing the things that we wish we had the courage to do on an everyday basis. So she's my hero."
She continued, "I want to be like her when I grow up and be like that. And for women specifically, she is outside the usual mold of what is shown in female protagonists. I think that sparks an interest in women and girls because they realize this is what I can be. This is what we all can be."
Yatco then stated that she enjoys playing Nobara. "It's such an honor to be able to play a role that is so interesting. And she's so all over the place, just like a real teenage girl is. She talks like a teenage girl and she's kind of one of the guys but also very much a girl," she said.
In the anime, Nobara Kugisaki was introduced in Episode 3 which is aptly titled Girl of Steel. With that in mind, the character is set for more awesome things and we can't wait to see her in action in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
For now, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
