We're only a few weeks away from the premiere of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and if there's one thing that fans are looking forward to, it would be the arrival of Toji Fushiguro. Takehito Koyasu is just as excited about his character's debut and the voice actor hyped up Toji's role in the upcoming story arc.
Takehito Koyasu Teases Toji Fushiguro's Role in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
In a recent interview for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Takehito Koyasu confirmed he is aware of the manga's popularity even before the casting and was eager to join the franchise right away.
"I knew the manga is popular, what kind of characters are involved, and the fact that Gojo and Geto are popular," he said.
"Toji has many interactions with those two and I know that the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death is the story about them," Koyasu added.
"I am honoured to do such an important act," he continued. "I'm excitedly looking forward to how Toji will interact while we learn more about Gojo and Geto."
Takehito Koyasu also shared what drew him to a character like Toji Fushiguro.
"Firstly, he is an adult character," he said. "The story is based on students, so adult characters are limited."
"He has the charm of a person that doesn't fit into the mould of a student," Koyasu continued. "From the story's point of view, he will be a villain."
He added, "But him being bad and strong is cool. It's not the kind of coolness that you get from being on the side of justice, but it's from actions that ordinary people wouldn't have the courage to act on."
"I don't have the guts to be the same, but I do get the feeling that 'I want to be like him,'" Koyasu concluded.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is already confirmed to adapt the manga's Gojo's Past arc, which has been retitled Hidden Inventory/Premature Death. The anime returns on July 6, 2023.
