It finally happened – Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 221 finally saw Gojo back in action after getting unsealed from the box, and it has put fans into a frenzy. After all, this moment has been one that fans have been waiting years for.
Gojo getting unsealed was set up in the previous chapter, and last week, spoilers were leaked online that detailed what happens.
Now, the chapter is officially out, and it confirms how Gojo was able to escape.

How Gojo Escaped From the Prison Realm
The chapter started with Yuji and his allies as they prepare to unseal Gojo using Hana Kurusu’s power. This was established before the Culling Game began.
While Yuji and company’s plans went well in the Culling Game, Sukuna made his move and jumped unto Megumi’s body.
Despite this setback, Hana was now with the Jujutsu High team, and they proceeded to undo the Prison Realm’s seal.
With the Back Gate in hand, Hana used her ability to nullify the box so Gojo can escape, though the box suddenly disappears.
It turns out that Hana’s ability worked, but Gojo came out through the Front Gate, which was buried deep underwater. Though Gojo was quickly able to come up and face Kenjaku and Sukuna.
Uraume tried to stop him, but Gojo showed off his power as he was able to quickly dispatch them.
Instead of fighting though, Kenjaku, Sukuna, and Gojo decide to meet once again on Christmas Eve to continue their fight.
The chapter then ended with Gojo reaffirming that he can defeat Sukuna.

Fans Are Going Wild After Gojo’s Long-Awaited Return
While it was only a bit over two weeks in the manga’s time, it has been over three years since Gojo was sealed during the Shibuya Incident in real-world time.
Given how long the wait has been for Gojo’s return, fans cheered all over the world when Gojo finally got out of the box.
With how powerful Gojo still proved to be in the chapter, many fans are excited to see more of him in action, especially with the upcoming fight against Sukuna and Kenjaku.
What also made waves was the long-running Twitter account @howlonginthebox as the creator can finally retire after years of service.
While Gojo is finally back, fans will have to wait a while longer for the next chapter as Jujutsu Kaisen will return in mid-May.
