Jon Favreau Drops The Title And Description Of His New Star Wars TV Series

Earlier this week, Jon Favreau began production on his upcoming Star Wars live-action series, and pictures taken from the set of the project revealed a potential return to Tatooine.

Now, the filmmaker has decided to give away the title as well as other new details about his upcoming Star Wars television show, confirming the rumors that have been running up and down the mill the past few months.

Taking to Instagram, Favreau posted a photo of a description of his series set in the style of the classic Star Wars opening crawl. Titled The Mandalorian, the Iron Man director's Star Wars live-action series will feature the story of a "lone gunfighter" in a time between the Fall of the Empire and the first emergence of the First Order sometime after Return of the Jedi.

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic," reads Favreau's post.

This is definitely exciting news for the Star Wars fanbase. Fans have been hoping for a Mandalorian series for quite some time, and while this new show won't be focusing on Boba or Jango Fett, fans are still in for quite a ride.

There's still no word on when the series is supposed to premiere, however, Favreau's show is set to exclusively drop on Disney's upcoming streaming site.
