One of the researchers that named the based the name of the bacteria to Keanu Reeves, Sebastian Götze, revealed to The Independent, the reason behind the nomenclature, “The lipopeptides kill so efficiently that we named them after Keanu Reeves because he, too, is extremely deadly in his roles.”

The John Wick actor, Keanu Reeves, opened a thread on Reddit where he aired his reaction to having a bacteria named after him, “They should’ve called it John Wick… but that’s pretty cool… and surreal for me,” he said.
Reeves added, “But thanks, scientist people! Good luck, and thank you for helping us.”
Keanu Reeves will be back on the killing scene as the titular character in John Wick: Chapter 4 which will come out in cinemas later this March. This is the fourth release of the neo-noir action film franchise with Chad Stahelski as the director and Shay Hatten and Michael Finch as the writers.
John Wick: Chapter 4 will follow the titular character as he goes through a path to put down the High Table but that is not an easy way should he want to earn his freedom because Wick would be facing new enemies which may include his old friends.
